How do I decide what fabric to send?
First of all, the most important consideration is that you choose fabric/clothing that holds special meaning and significance for you.
Whatever item you order, it will be totally unique and so we advise that you take your time when making your decision.
​

WHAT FABRIC SHOULD I CHOOSE?
​
Fabric of the same 'weight' (thickness) work well together.
Cotton, denim, wool, corduroy and jersey knitwear are generally good options due to their ease of handling and ability to hold their shape.
Fabrics that are very stretchy or 'slippery' or delicate (silk, lace) can be used, as long as they are matched with fabric of the same weight. We always use interfacing to stabilise the fabric we receive.

Chiffon is too fragile to be used successfully and loose knit items are too bulky to be cut and sewn successfully.
Leather / leatherette is also too thick to use.
Fur (faux or real) is also not suitable for a bespoke commission.

WHAT COLOURS SHOULD I CHOOSE?
​
The "rule of three" in any discipline of design states that grouping elements in sets of three creates a more visually appealing, balanced and harmonious composition.
​
When you are thinking about what fabric to use, we suggest you think about what colours go well together and compliment each other.
​
A beautiful keepsake can be made using a single piece of clothing, as can a combination of plain and patterned fabric to create a more varied design.

HOW DO I SEND MY ITEMS OF CLOTHING / FABRIC TO YOU?
​
Place your fabric in a poly mailing bag and post it to us.
You will find our full address on the payment receipt we will send to your email inbox.
​
Points to remember!
​
Ensure your items are clean and dry.
​
Fold neatly to minimise wrinkles.
​
Use a mailing bag that is the correct size for your items to ensure they are secure. A 60 cm x 40 cm (24" x 16") bag can comfortably hold several pieces of clothing / fabric.
If your bag has too much excess space, fold the extra poly bag material and secure it tightly with tape to create a snug and compact package.
​
Remove any excess air to keep the package flat in transit.
​
Remember to include your name and order number inside the mailing bag before you seal it closed!
​
Seal the mailing bag securely using the self-adhesive strip. Apply firm pressure along the entire strip to create a strong bond. For extra security, you may want to use a strong packing tape along all edges and openings.
​
Attach the label securely to the outside of the mailing bag. Cover the label with clear tape to prevent water damage or peeling.
​
​For peace of mind, we strongly suggest choosing a courier that provides a tracking service. This allows you to easily follow your items' journey!

Small memory bears are approximately 24 cm / 9” tall.
​
Medium memory bears are approximately 28 cm / 11" tall.
​
Large memory bears are approximately 32 cm / 13" tall.

The type of fabric you send will effect the size of your finished bear,
as some fabrics have more stretch than others.
​

YES! We will hand embroider a name up to 10 letters on your bear
at no extra charge.
Embroidery is placed on the back of your chosen bear.
